"Thank y'all Counter Civilisation DIY for a place for united states to learn and inspire others. Sometimes what we see in others' work sparks the creative juices. We each have our ain style and sharing ideas can merely broaden the mural for others in our craft. The thought for the gnome cups was inspired past the vino glasses that Trina VanAalst posted on the CCDIY Artist Support group. I was able to wait at her design and create my ain version on a stainless steel coffee and "oddball" tumbler. My supplies from CCDIY helped bring these beautiful little guys to life with depth and smoothen. By the time I was done I feel like they each took on a personality of their own."

A Notation well-nigh Colors…

Char used Dispersion Colors to get the shades she wanted for these sweet little guys. The colors you use will depend on the shades you are going for. You can use one colour or several mixed together depending on the pallet you want to accomplish. Remember that a little bit of Dispersion Color goes a long manner. Start with just a tiny chip and and then add more if yous need to. The same goes with glitter too. The glitters that Char chose matched upwards with her colour blends. I prepped and put a glitter base on my tumblers using Fast Fix for the epoxy method then a glaze of Creative person Resin.
To create the bristles I made a stencil with vinyl and placed it on the cup. I mixed White Snow Dispersion color with my modern podge and added the beard with modern podge and glitter, repeating until I had good coverage.
I sealed the beard with Rustoleum 2x clear. I chose to spray it to keep any of the glitter from moving with quick coat.
Next I added the vinyl design to the bottom.
I used Artist Resin to cover the bristles. The Artist Resin was thick enough to utilise one coat. Since you lot are working the dirt you don't have to have the white of the beard perfectly smooth at this point, merely practiced enough that you won't have dirt built up in information technology.
To apply the dirt I rolled out a department that would fit around the cup and made it nearly ¼" thick. The ¼" is important because it is the recommended thickness for air dry clay to dry out without much great and non exist so thick that it takes a long time to dry. I was able to salve the mixture in a baggie and re-utilise it for several layers. The mod podge seals your dirt but does Not make information technology water proof. Let it to dry out overnight.
Next, cover the beard and lid with Quick Coat. Make sure you pay attending to the underside. Get in all of the crevices.

Finally, allow your last layer of epoxy to cure for 24 hours!
